Theme-based Special Sessions
NASCO’s Theme-based Special Sessions (TBSS) are intended to allow for the exchange of information and sharing of best practice on a topic related to NASCO’s agreements and guidelines. These sessions usually take the form of a whole or half day of presentations and discussion on a particular topic, usually at the time of the NASCO Annual Meeting.
The following reports from TBSS are available:
- Report of the 2017 Theme-based Special Session: Understanding the risks and benefits of hatchery and stocking activities to wild Atlantic almon populations.
- Report of the 2016 Theme-based Special Session: Addressing impacts of salmon farming on wild Atlantic salmon: Challenges to, and developments supporting, achievement of NASCO’s international goals.
- Report of the 2015 Theme-based Special Session: Maintaining and improving river connectivity with particular focus on impacts of hydropower.
- Report of the 2014 Theme-based Special Session: Management of single and mixed stock fisheries, with particular focus on fisheries on stocks below their conservation limit.
